Right after Thanksgiving, the biggest travel period is during Christmas. With so many travelers out and about, the need for accommodation is high in demand, especially for vacation rentals. As a property manager of vacation rentals, the Christmas season presents the perfect opportunity to create a festive atmosphere for your seasonal guests.

Decorate for the Holidays

As you enter the month of December, plan on sprucing up your rental with a few decorations. It doesn’t have to be super elaborate, keep it simple with a festive wreath and maybe a miniature Christmas tree.

Get into the Giving Spirit

To greet your guests upon their arrival, consider providing a gift! Welcome your guests with a plate of Christmas cookies or even mugs filled with packets of hot cocoa. If you want to go out of your way, consider assembling a gift basket filled with goods and treats from a few local stores. Be sure to leave the names of each business or leave their business cards so your renters can visit the stores themselves.

Create a Christmas Package Deal

For guests who book for the holiday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, consider creating a package deal for the week or weekend. Promoting a package will appeal more to your guests and make a price point less offensive. In your package, consider adding a gift certificate to a local restaurant, a champagne or wine gift basket, or even tickets to a local showing. This package deal can even be reused as a New Year’s Eve Special!
